AI and the creative realm: A short review of current and future applications

Crimaldi, Fabio, Leonelli, Manuele

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This study explores the concept of creativity and artificial intelligence (AI) and their recent integration. While AI has traditionally been perceived as incapable of generating new ideas or creating art, the development of more sophisticated AI models and the proliferation of human-computer interaction tools have opened up new possibilities for AI in artistic creation. This study investigates the various applications of AI in a creative context, differentiating between the type of art, language, and algorithms used. It also considers the philosophical implications of AI and creativity, questioning whether consciousness can be researched in machines and AI's potential interests and decision-making capabilities. Overall, we aim to stimulate a reflection on AI's use and ethical implications in creative contexts.

What is Auto-GPT? Another step in advancement of AI

FOX News

Fox News correspondent Grady Trimble has the latest on fears the technology will spiral out of control on'Special Report.' You've probably heard of some of the biggest artificial intelligence chatbots being used and explored today, like ChatGPT and Google Bard. One artificial intelligence tool that may be new to you is Auto-GPT, an AI tool released at the end of March that is more advanced than both ChatGPT and Google Bard. Auto-GPT is a step closer to creating what is known as "strong AI," a type of AI that is likely what we pictured when we thought of AI in the past. These depictions often feature robots with human-like capabilities that were only seen in futuristic science-fiction movies.

Artificial intelligence: Frequently asked questions about AI

FOX News

FOX Business correspondent Lydia Hu has the latest on jobs at risk as AI further develops on'America's Newsroom.' The advancement of artificial intelligence is progressing at a breakneck pace. While the technology is changing rapidly, the basic principles behind AI aren't new. Artificial intelligence has been around for many years, and has been built upon by many different developers. Today, some of the most well known AIs include chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Bard, with many more to come.

Artificial Intelligence (AI): Everything You Need to Know - The Edvocate

#artificialintelligence

Spread the loveIt refers to the capacity of computer programs to carry out tasks that were normally attributed to humans. Such tasks include translation of languages, speech recognition, visual awareness & perception, as well as the making of decisions. Artificial intelligence can be broadly grouped into two classes – weak AI and strong AI. Weak AI, often called Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) or Narrow AI, refers to artificial intelligence that’s trained and focused on carrying out particular tasks. Most of the AI that’s in operation today is driven by weak AI. It powers some extremely robust applications, like Amazon’s Alexa, […]

Artificial Intelligence: The Fundamentals🤓

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence can be classified into two categories: weak AI and strong AI. Weak AI systems are systems that can only do specific tasks they've been programmed to, e.g. Alexa, while strong AI systems are systems which can perform a broad range of tasks without being programmed to do it. A type of weak AI is Artificial Narrow Intelligence while types of strong AI are Artificial General Intelligence and Artificial Super Intelligence which we'll be getting to soon. Seeing we've gotten a basic idea of what AI is, what are the different types of AI? Since the 1950s we've come so far yet not far enough in developing artificial intelligence.

Benefits & Risks of Artificial Intelligence - Future of Life Institute

"Everything we love about civilization is a product of intelligence, so amplifying our human intelligence with artificial intelligence has the potential of helping civilization flourish like never before - as long as we manage to keep the technology beneficial." From SIRI to self-driving cars, artificial intelligence (AI) is progressing rapidly. While science fiction often portrays AI as robots with human-like characteristics, AI can encompass anything from Google's search algorithms to IBM's Watson to autonomous weapons. Artificial intelligence today is properly known as narrow AI (or weak AI), in that it is designed to perform a narrow task (e.g. However, the long-term goal of many researchers is to create general AI (AGI or strong AI).

Artificial general intelligence definition: Examples, challenges, and approaches

#artificialintelligence

There is a disagreement among professionals over artificial general intelligence definition. Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is the capacity for machines to perceive, learn, and carry out intellectual tasks in a manner similar to that of humans. AGI allows machines to mimic human behavior and thought processes in order to tackle any kind of complex problem. The performance of these machines is identical to that of humans due to their design, which includes comprehensive knowledge and cognitive computing skills. Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is the software representation of generalized human cognitive capabilities so that the AGI system can come up with a solution when presented with a challenging issue. AGI systems are designed to carry out any task that humans are capable of. Because specialists in various domains interpret human intelligence differently, there are many possible definitions of AGI.

What Is Artificial Intelligence, and How Does It Affect Your Daily Life?

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence, better known as AI, sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie. It brings to mind self-aware computers and human-like robots that walk among us. And while those things are part of the overarching artificial intelligence definition and may exist in the future, AI is already a big part of our everyday lives. So, what is artificial intelligence, exactly? It's complicated, but every time you use Siri or Alexa, you're using AI, and that's just the beginning of its practical applications. "The main benefit of AI is that it can bridge the gap between humans and technology," says AI researcher Robb Wilson.

Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence - the Future of Technology Explained

#artificialintelligence

On a basic level, there are two main types of AI – narrow AI and strong AI. Strong AI, on the other hand, would be capable of handling a wide range of tasks instead of one particular task. It could potentially have human-level cognition and would be able to complete any intellectual task that a person could. Narrow AI exists today, while strong AI has yet to emerge – as a matter of fact, many experts question whether it is even possible. For this reason, it's important to take a closer look at how they may interact in the future.

Strong AI vs. Weak AI: What's the Difference?

#artificialintelligence

While weak AI focuses on automating specific tasks, strong AI is capable of learning and thinking like humans do. Weak AI can outperform humans on the specific tasks it is designed for, but it operates under far more constraints than even the most basic human intelligence. All the AI that's available today can be considered weak AI. Meanwhile, strong AI does not exist yet.
